Course Overview
Take children on a journey across time, continents, and cultures with this inspiring, hands-on workshop. Cultural Two explores the rich Montessori materials used to introduce geography, history, astronomy, and global culture in a meaningful, age-appropriate way. Guided by experienced trainers, you’ll learn how to present big concepts like day and night, land and water forms, and the solar system in ways that feel accessible, exciting, and purposeful to young children.
Whether you’re supporting children in a classroom or enriching learning at home, this course equips you with the tools to cultivate curiosity, respect, and a sense of connection to the wider world.
The Cultural Materials
Cultural Two introduces children to the broader patterns of life on Earth and beyond – from the daily rhythm of time to the vastness of continents and stars. Materials like the Sandpaper Globes, Continent Puzzle Maps, and Land and Water Forms help children physically explore the shape and structure of the planet. Lessons on land, air and water, volcanoes, and the solar system spark early scientific thinking. History comes to life through birthday celebrations, personal timelines, and stories of famous people, helping children understand themselves in relation to time. Cards, cultural objects, cooking, and real-world experiences offer a window into global traditions – nurturing empathy, diversity, and a joyful appreciation for cultures near and far. These materials provide not just information, but a deeply human context for the world children are growing into.
