Course Overview
Immerse yourself in the wonder of Montessori Cultural education with this hands-on workshop designed to ignite children’s natural curiosity about the world around them. From the arts to zoology, this course explores the foundational Montessori materials and experiences that introduce children to classification, life sciences, early physics, and creative expression. Guided by experienced trainers, you’ll learn to present activities that are rich in discovery and perfectly tailored to young learners.
Whether you’re supporting children in the classroom or at home, this course equips you with practical tools to help children connect deeply with nature, culture, and the rhythms of the world.
The Cultural Materials
Montessori Cultural activities offer children meaningful ways to explore the natural world and human expression through hands-on, sensorial experiences. In this course, you’ll work with materials that support early classification, scientific observation, and artistic creativity. Children explore botany with flower dissections, leaf cabinets, and nature tables; zoology with vertebrate and invertebrate sorting cards and puzzles; and early biology through living/non-living comparisons and life cycles. Simple science experiments like sink/float and magnetic/non-magnetic introduce basic physical properties through discovery and discussion. The course also includes foundational experiences in art (such as colour mixing and sketching) and music (rhythm and notation) – helping children connect to human culture and creativity. These early Cultural materials spark awe, observation, and a lifelong appreciation for the world and its interconnected systems.
