Course Overview
Take the next step in your Montessori maths journey with this hands-on, operations-focused workshop. Designed for educators, parents, and students, this course explores the key materials used to introduce addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division – all through Montessori’s unique, tactile approach. Guided by experienced trainers, you’ll gain the confidence to present increasingly complex mathematical ideas in a way that’s engaging, logical, and accessible for every child.
Whether you’re introducing the Stamp Game, exploring the Snake Game, or working with the Bead Frame, this course equips you with the knowledge and structure to help children move joyfully from concrete exploration to confident abstract calculation.
The Mathematics Materials
Montessori’s approach to mathematics allows children to see and feel what happens when numbers are added, subtracted, multiplied, or divided. In this course, you’ll explore materials that build on foundational number work, including the Beads and Cards, Bank Game, Strip Boards, and Stamp Game. Tools like the Snake Game, Dot Game, and Bead Frames provide opportunities for repetition, mental calculation, and problem-solving. With the Fraction Insets and Word Problems, children begin applying mathematical knowledge in meaningful ways. This sequence of hands-on materials helps children develop operational fluency, accuracy, and an intrinsic understanding of number relationships – all while building the confidence to tackle abstract maths with clarity and joy.
